Transports
System Users
Authorization objects are defined with the help of transaction SU21. Each SAP transaction is equipped with the required authorization objects in SU24, which control access to specific functions within the respective program. Standard programs / transactions of an ERP system are already equipped with these objects during the initial installation. The same applies to other platforms such as CRM or Solution Manager.
Many companies do not pay enough attention to the topic of authorizations in SAP SuccessFactors. It often seems too complex and confusing. Both the creation of a concept and the harmonization of existing structures often seem like a mammoth task. However, with role-based authorizations, SAP provides a very powerful control tool that remains clear with a little help and documentation.
Create order through role-based permissions
The downloading of the table must be monthly. You can also make downloading easier; Frank Buchholz presents programmes that you can use in his blog (see http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/Snippets/Show+RFC+Workload+Statistic+to+build+authorizations+for+authorization+object+S_RFC). Optionally, the next step is to identify function groups for the function blocks. You can find them in the AREA field of the ENLFDIR table. However, we recommend granting permissions at the function block level, because function groups often contain a large number of function blocks and the accessibility is expanded unnecessarily.
Initial passwords for standard users are extremely risky because they are published. Make sure that this vulnerability does not exist in your system landscape. An SAP system is always shipped with certain standard users or they are automatically set up for the transport management system, for example. These default users use initial passwords that are well known. Close this vulnerability by changing the passwords and protecting the default users from unauthorised use. In this tip we will show you how you can clarify the status of your standard users' passwords and give you recommendations on the settings of your profile parameters.
During go-live, the assignment of necessary authorizations is particularly time-critical. The "Shortcut for SAP systems" application provides functions for this purpose, so that the go-live does not get bogged down because of missing authorizations.
To do this, select the appropriate entries in the Category and Transport fields and check the Current setting option.
Enter "Y" or "F" for filters here if you want to define a filter (see Tip 38, "Use SU22 and SU24 transactions correctly") and save your input.
