SAP Authorizations - A Common Perspective of Developers and Consultants
RSUSR003
Make sure that the client-independent tables for logging are always logged when the parameters are not set to OFF. In addition to the parameters listed here, the table itself must also have the table logging hook set; This is usually done with the help of the transaction SE13. The settings are made in development and then transported to the other systems. The SAP standard already provides some tables for logging; For an overview of these tables, see SAP Note 112388 (tables requiring logging). You can evaluate the logging settings of the tables using the RDDPRCHK report or the RDDPRCHK_AUDIT transaction in the SAP system. The selection is made in the start image of the report, e.g. via the table name or the selection of options for logging.
You can't keep an eye on everything. Therefore, avoid that your colleagues do not assign users to a user group, and thus ensure that the user master data maintenance permissions check is correct. You do not want a user without a user group to be able to be created in your SAP systems? Users without a user group can be changed by all administrators with permission for any user group. You should also prevent incomplete permission checks when assigning roles and profiles to users without a permission group. Because it is possible to assign roles and permissions to a user first, and then assign a user group that does not have permission to assign roles and profiles. Finally, do you want to change the user group for an existing user without having permission for the new user group? In the following section we will show you how to secure your user master data maintenance.
Edit Old Stand
To do this, first define what information should be checked. In the SU20 transaction, verify that the required fields may already exist as permission fields. If you want to check custom fields, you must create your own permission fields in the transaction SU20. Please pay particular attention to the (F4) help provided. When defining customised permission fields, you assign a name in the Field Name field that is in your Customer Name Room and assign the corresponding data element and, if desired, a table name for a value help. The next step is to create your own authorization object and assign your permission fields and, if necessary, default permission fields. If you use the ACTVT field to validate the activity, you must use the Activities allowed button to select the activities that you want to validate from the source code of your programme. For recommendations on the naming conventions for authorization objects, see SAP Note 395083.
Other project settings should be defined on the Scope, Project Views, Project Employees, Status Values, Keywords, Document Types, Transport Orders, and Cross Reference tabs. After all entries have been made, you must secure the project. Do not forget to generate the project. The SPRO transaction allows you to edit the newly created customising project. The first call does not display the newly created project. To view it, click the Record button in the Work Inventory ( ), select your project, and then confirm your selection. After you have successfully created, generated, or edited the project, you will perform the PFCG transaction to create a customising role for the project. Select a name for the role, and then click Create Single Role. Now open the Menu tab and follow the path: Tools > Customising Permissions > Add > Insert Customising Activities. Then choose between IMG Project and View of an IMG Project. All transaction codes are added from the IMG project to the Role menu. Note that this can be a very large number of transactions and can therefore take longer. You can then use the Permissions tab to express the authorization objects as usual. Back up and generate the role.
Authorizations can also be assigned via "Shortcut for SAP systems".
Before doing so, all index entries must be deleted; This can lead to a long run of the report.
You can use the roles as a template for your own roles and adapt them to your requirements.
