Why does a company need an SAP Basis department? [Using our company as an example]
Development guidelines
Instead of data maintenance and application development, SAP Basis is more about providing and maintaining the software environment on which the data resides and is processed. Therefore, SAP Basis is an important core of any SAP infrastructure and is required in both predecessor versions such as R/3 and current versions such as S/4HANA 2021.

However, the tasks also include strategic and planning aspects. For example, administrators define requirements and standards, select and control upgrades or extensions, implement monitoring processes, and take care of necessary backups and emergency management.
Connect and configure printers and other peripheral devices
The application layer is the central component of the SAP R/3 system. This layer is therefore also referred to by SAP as the actual basis system. Within the layer there are application servers and a message server.

Introducing secinfo and reginfo files into an existing system landscape is associated with risk and effort. As already indicated in the two options, the workload increases greatly as the system landscape grows.

The "Shortcut for SAP Systems" tool is ideal for doing many tasks in the SAP basis more easily and quickly.

After the employee has successfully completed his or her induction and is now in a permanent position, he or she still has permissions that are not necessary to perform his or her duties.

This method displays the result in the GUI shortly after the query is sent.
