You would like to know more about what is happening on your SAP systems - then I recommend that you take a closer look at the Solution Manager Usage Procedure Logging (UPL) functionality. What code is often executed? Which database tables are accessed regularly? What unused developments exist? - The UPL provides answers to these questions. You can implement the functionality into your existing SAP landscape without additional licence costs and with moderate effort. What information does the UPL provide? Usage Procedure Logging is used to log and record user behaviour data roughly comparable to the ST03N workload statistics. UPL is able to record the call and execution of the following ABAP objects: Reports Functional Blocks Classes Methods Subroutines SQL Calls In addition, UPL is able to detect dynamic programme calls and generate transparency about the modifications used. All usage data is recorded in detail and automated and, if desired, made available centrally in the SAP Solution Manager. Benefits 1) Hardly measurable Performance Impact 2) Central collection of data of all systems in the SAP Solution Manager's BW 3) No complex setup 4) Once activated, the collector and extractor jobs run regularly and without further manual activities Possible usage scenario If you have Solution Manager 7.2 in use, you can use UPL within the framework of "Custom Code Lifecycle Management" (in German: management of customer developments). After one activation of the BW content and some standard jobs, you select one or more systems for which you want to activate UPL. If you already have the SP05 installed, there is a separate "Guided Procedure" for configuring the UPL in SOLMAN_SETUP.
Technical developments are progressing at high speed. Thus, the term "blockchain" is not unique to digital currencies. Instead, there is talk of a technology that will disrupt existing products, services, and even business models. In order to better assess the potential and impact of blockchain technology, various companies from different technologies and, in particular, financial sectors have joined forces in consortia in recent years: The R3 Consortium, which is primarily a consortium of about 80 financial sector companies (UBS, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank, ...). The IoT Consortium, which includes Bosch Ltd, Cisco Systems Inc, is investigating how blockchain technology can be used to secure and improve IoT networks. More than 120 financial, banking, IoT and industrial companies have joined the Hyperledger (Enterprise Ethereum Alliance) consortium. SIMPLIFYING COMMUNICATION
SAP Basis represents the cornerstone of the SAP system, i.e. the foundation without which the system cannot function. Furthermore, it includes some administration tools and middleware programs. These programs can be used with the help of SAP Basis independently of the operating system and database used.
The Open Innovation Model approach comes into play in the idea creation, evaluation and selection phase, which can also be divided into the three eponymous sub-steps. In a closed innovation model, innovation is created only from the company itself. The Open Innovation Model allows for different sources of idea generation. So it is about opening up the innovation process, as shown in Figure 2, which was presented earlier. The figure shows the company boundaries through the dotted lines and the ideas that can be generated both within and outside the company. The Open Innovation approach can be divided into the three core processes of the Outside-In process, Inside-Out process and Coupled process. The Outside-In process involves knowledge from external sources in idea generation. This happens, for example, through cooperation with companies, suppliers or even customers. The inside-out process supports development, commercialisation, and deployment to markets outside of the organisation itself if there is little chance of success in implementing the idea internally. The Coupled process links the two strategies mentioned above. This is an attempt to generate cooperation successes through joint development and subsequent commercialisation in networks. In terms of the SAP basis, the Outside-In process plays an essential role in generating ideas within the framework of the Open Innovation approach.
